You May Not Be Losing Weight If...Cont.

This blog piggy-backs off of yesterday’s blog about not losing weight because of weekend splurges. I mentioned that it’s ok to treat yourself once a week if you consistently eat clean during the week. But then I began to think. Why is it that we reward ourselves with food? I’m not pointing the finger. I’m even asking myself this same question. Why is it that when my girlfriends and I get together, food is always somewhere in the picture? Sounds like a new way of thinking is in order. Instead of rewarding ourselves with food, why not try something different?

There are many non-food items that you could reward yourself with whenever you successfully and consistently eat clean. It depends of your personality and preferences but some ideas include a new outfit, a movie or a new cd download from iTunes. Be creative and try to think outside the box so that your mind doesn’t automatically think of food being the only reward.

As you can see, weight  loss is just as much a mental journey as it is a physical one. Some old ideas will be challenged but the question is…How badly do you want this? It’s not an impossible task but you will be required to suffer through some short-term discomfort to get the lasting results and need and deserve.
